Punjabi help, please: What is the literal meaning of “hadippa”?

Updated on August 6, 2022

I know it means something like, “Hooray!” or “Yahoo!” or “Let’s get this party started!” and that I should be sure to use it whenever I sing bhangra, or Desi hip-hop.

But what exactly does it MEAN?

So it’s like “hooray!” — it doesn’t mean anything specific?
