  • difference of cubes

    a³ – b³ = (a – b)(a² + a b + b²)

    125 – 8 = 5³ – 2³ = (5 – 2)(5² + 5·2 + 2²) = 3·39 = 117

  • Difference of Cubes

    117=125-8

    117=5³-2³

  • Difference of Cubes

    Actually one proves the identity by the rules of arithmetic.

    However, 125 – 8 = 5³ – 2³ = (5 – 2)(5² + 5 x 2 + 2²) = 3 x 39 = 117

  • 125 = 5*5*5

    8 = 2*2*2

    they are both cube numbers and subtracted.

    So the answer of course is difference of cubes.
